Welcoming our New Future Ranger Students for 2024!

Welcoming our New Future Ranger Students for 2024!

The GCC team is buzzing with excitement as we kick off another chapter of our Future Ranger Program, and we’re thrilled to introduce the latest group of students joining our conservation journey!

With great pleasure, we welcome back over 1,500 primary school students into our program, along with a 100 prestigious high school learners selected from three high schools in the Kruger area.

We want to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Treehouse Structures for their WILD HEARTS Program and associated curriculum we’re deploying with our younger learners. Likewise, big thanks to our incredible facilitators and on-the-ground team – Mbhoni, Lefa, Promise, Wendy, and Ash – whose dedication and hard work have brought this year’s program to life.

As we embark on this journey together, we’re filled with hope and eagerness to nurture these young minds. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to inspire and empower the future stewards of conservation through the Future Rangers Program!

Vumba: Our Digital Learning Platform Gets a Name!

Vumba: Our Digital Learning Platform Gets a Name!

Exciting news! Over the past four years, we’ve been developing and piloting an innovative EdTech platform in the greater Kruger area, tracking more than 10,000 students on a weekly basis. This transformative tool provides educators and NGOs access to world-class curriculum, connects businesses to emerging youth entering the marketplace, and enables students to prove their learning achievements – essentially like a “Conservation LinkedIn.”

After years of building and piloting, we’re publicly launching our platform in 2024, and it all starts with a name: Vumba which means “to create” in the local language of Xitsonga. This name perfectly reflects our mission to foster creativity and scalable career pathways in conservation education. Thanks to all our students and partners who helped us decide on the new name of this platform.

Vumba will be commercially launched in mid 2024, we can’t wait to see how this tool inspires the next generation of conservation leaders.

In this different and exciting episode, we take in a completely different perspective of nature – one that is found in the metaverse. The metaverse is what many in the computer industry believe is the next iteration of the internet: a single, shared, immersive, persistent, 3D virtual space where humans experience life in ways they could not in the physical world.

Our guide to the metaverse is Constantino Roselli – a leader in creating the metaverse and a member of the 50 best known thought leaders in the Metaverse worldwide.
