Matt has spent his life between Southern Africa and the USA. Growing up near the Kruger National Park, he always admired the rangers and conservationists that protected Africa’s fauna and flora. Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of South Africa and his MSc in Biology at Grand Valley State University, Michigan. His professional career has included working at the Southern African Wildlife College where he trained field rangers and reserve managers, cheetah keeper at the Cheetah Conservation Fund and senior producer at Friendly Human.
The initiation of GCC was founded on a belief that the individuals involved in protecting and conserving our environments deserve support, recognition and global backing. Furthermore, Matt advocates that everyone should have the opportunity and accessibility to be involved in meaningful conservation practices. His passions include aviation, tennis, traveling and birding.
